After a four-year suspension, Thai Airways is expanding its Australian operations with the resumption of services between Bangkok and Perth. The airline continues its international expansion plans.
Perth is part of the rebuilding of Thai Airways’ global network which was affected by the health crisis. The airline also plans a second daily flight to Sydney operated on Airbus A350-900s to complement services to Melbourne.
Bangkok is the fifth international destination announced at Perth Airport after South African Airways’ Johannesburg, Qantas’ Paris, Jetstar Airways’ Phuket, and Singapore. Thai Airways will be the only airline to connect Thailand and Western Australia from the start of the 2024 summer season, with low-cost carrier Jetstar Airways commencing services from Perth to Phuket and Bangkok between August and September.
