Airbus announced that it delivered a total of 30 aircraft in January and received 31 firm orders. Additionally, the European consortium presented the results of orders and deliveries for the year 2023.
In January, the distribution of deliveries was as follows: 2 A220-300, 13 A320 neo, 13 A321 neo, and 2 A330-900. As for orders, Delta Air Lines requested 20 A350-100, and Ethiopian Airlines 11 A350-900, totaling 31 aircraft.
It is important to highlight that the order placed by Ethiopian Airlines took place during the Dubai Air Show 2023; however, it has been included as part of the requests for the year 2024.
During 2023, Airbus delivered a total of 735 aircraft and received 2094 net orders. Surprisingly, the European manufacturer managed to exceed the proposed target for 2023, which was 720 aircraft.
2023 Statistics
The deliveries of 2023 are broken down according to the different commercial aircraft programs, resulting in the following numbers: 68 deliveries from the A220 program, 250 from the A319/A320, 317 from the A321, 32 from the A330, and 64 from the A350.
Worldwide, Europe accounted for 34% of the deliveries in 2023, followed by Asia and the Pacific with 32%, then the Americas with 25% (17% for North America and 8% for Latin America), the Middle East and Africa with 8%, and lastly, «other» with 1%.
