Etihad Cargo enters into strategic partnership with WFS

Etihad Cargo has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a member of the SATS Group for handling cargo service from 12 airports in Europe, Scandinavia, the United States, North America, India, and Asia-Pacific.

The company will have a three-year contract and provide WFS to handle 150,000 tons of cargo annually for the Abu Dhabi-based company. In the EMEA region, the airports served in the agreement are Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, Bangalore, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Madrid, and Paris CDG. In North America, there are existing WFS operations for New York and Washington Dulles and the new award in Boston and Chicago O’Hare.

Etihad Cargo provides a strategic link to Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East through its hub in Abu Dhabi. It provides cargo capacity on passenger and cargo aircraft, as well as an extensive global network.

Since its inception in 2004, Etihad Cargo has established itself as one of the world’s leading air cargo operators, providing its customers with a range of products and services to five continents. The company has been a WFS customer for cargo handling since they signed their first agreement in Frankfurt in 2005.

Etihad Cargo’s long-standing partnership with WFS and the addition of new stations are a direct reflection of their shared commitment to providing high-quality airfreight solutions worldwide. The combination of Etihad Cargo’s expertise in general and specialized cargo transportation and the capabilities of WFS offer partners and customers the confidence that their airfreight needs are in the best hands, wherever they are in the world,” said Thomas Schürmann, Etihad Cargo’s Director of Cargo and Delivery Operations.
