Fokker Services Asia and Embraer have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Fokker Services Group subsidiary to become an Authorized Service Center for the Brazilian manufacturer.
Both companies are expected to finalize the agreement during the first half of 2024. Consequently, Fokker Services Asia will become the official service provider for the first-generation E-Jets family of aircraft.
Frank Stevens, Vice President of MRO Services at Embraer Services and Support, stated: «We are very pleased to partner with Fokker Services Asia to expand our MRO footprint in Asia. Embraer has been growing in the Asia-Pacific region over the past year, and it is crucial to continue expanding our capacity and presence to bring value to our customers.»
This announcement comes at an opportune time for Fokker Services Asia, as the prospect of obtaining Embraer certification marks another milestone in their efforts to equip their facilities for the deployment of comprehensive Embraer MRO services, following the previous certification by CASA (Australia) in August 2023 for Australian-registered E190 aircraft.
Thomas Kennedy, General Manager of Fokker Services Asia, noted that «as an authorized service center with certifications from key aviation regulatory entities in the region, we are proud to formally establish a new line of work for the comprehensive maintenance of Embraer aircraft.»
