Westjet has unveiled its schedule for the 2024 summer season with 10 new flights and 16 resumed and extended services. The airline is strengthening Canada’s coast-to-coast connectivity.
«Our 2024 summer schedule continues to deliver on our commitment to make critical investments across Canada, providing more affordable options for Canadians and international visitors to connect to the people and places that matter most,» said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Increased connectivity to Canada
The airline will have 15 new routes to and from Western Canada this summer; Eastern Canada will feature a schedule of 11 new routes.
- New seasonal service between Calgary and Deer Lake.
- Resumption of seasonal routes from Toronto to Deer Lake, Charlottetown, and Victoria.
- Resumption of transatlantic flights in Halifax and St. John’s.
- 44% growth in Halifax and 60% growth in St. John ‘s compared to summer 2023.
Leadership in the leisure market
Westjet Group will be the largest carrier with the most capacity in the leisure market in Canada.
- 57% growth in routes to Latin America and the Caribbean compared to summer 2023 levels.
- 55% increase in capacity from Toronto to sunny destinations.
- More flights between Hawaii and Canada than any other Canadian airline.
- The only airline to fly year-round between Canada and Maui from both Calgary and Vancouver.
More flights to the U.S. in partnership with Delta
Westjet will increase capacity to the U.S. by 26% this summer, with a 70% increase to Delta hubs.
- New routes between Regina and Minneapolis, Vancouver and Detroit, and Edmonton and Atlanta.
- Direct connection between Edmonton, San Francisco, and Nashville.
- Resumption of seasonal summer service between Halifax and St. John’s to Orlando.
- More flights to Phoenix and Las Vegas from Western Canada than any other airline.
- Thanks to Westjet’s codeshare partnership with Delta Air Lines, customers can access more than 100 U.S. destinations through Delta’s hubs in Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Seattle.
