JetSMART has expanded its network of international routes with two new connections to Brazil. The ultra low-cost airline now offers flights to São Paulo (GRU) and Florianópolis (FLN) from Lima, Peru, with strategic layovers in Santiago, Chile, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
These new routes commenced on March 25th. The flight between Lima and São Paulo includes a layover at the Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago, Chile (SCL), while the flight to Florianópolis has a brief layover in Buenos Aires (EZE).
With this move, JetSMART continues its expansion in Brazil, a country where it already has a presence in four cities: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, and Foz do Iguaçu.
The airline operates flights from Santiago, Chile to all four mentioned destinations, while from Buenos Aires it offers services to Florianópolis and Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, it operates a direct flight between Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro.
Verónica Marambio Álvarez, Commercial Manager of International Markets at JetSMART, remarked: «This is another significant step in our expansion plans in South America, offering affordable and low-cost flights to an increasing number of travelers. We are connecting two very important cities in Brazil with the capital of Peru, Lima, expanding possibilities for tourism and corporate travel.»
The ultra low-cost airline, owned by Indigo Partners, aims to reach 100 aircraft by 2028. Recently, JetSMART celebrated the arrival of two new Airbus units, increasing its total fleet to 35 aircraft, making it the airline with the youngest fleet in all of South America.
