Virgin Atlantic and Kenya Airways implemented a new codeshare agreement to provide greater access to Nairobi and beyond in East Africa. The first phase of the agreement will allow customers booking through Virgin Atlantic to purchase flights directly on the Kenya Airways Heathrow to Nairobi route.

Meanwhile, Kenya Airways customers will soon be able to connect via London Heathrow to several Caribbean destinations, including Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Kenya Airways is one of Africa’s leading airlines and a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Virgin Atlantic Gold and Silver Flying Club members and Kenya Airways Asante Rewards Platinum and Gold members can access SkyPriority services at London Heathrow and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, including check-in, baggage handling, and priority boarding.

SkyTeam membership on both airlines allows Flying Club members to earn rewards faster. From March 2023, the option to earn Virgin Points and Tier Points and redeem Virgin Points will be available.

«We are delighted to launch our partnership with Kenya Airways. As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, we know our customers will enjoy a seamless travel experience, with more opportunities to earn and spend their miles and greater benefits for our SkyPriority members,» said Juha Jarvinen, Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Commercial Officer.

«We are delighted to embark on this transformational partnership with Virgin Atlantic. Leveraging our complementary strengths and networks, we intend to enrich the travel experience of our valued customers by offering them more choice, convenience, and connectivity to key destinations worldwide,» said Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer of Kenya Airways.
