United inaugurated its flights between San Francisco and Barcelona

United Airlines continues to grow in Spain with the launch of nonstop flights between San Francisco and Barcelona, becoming the airline’s fourth route to the Catalan capital after Chicago O’Hare, Newark and Washington-Dulles.

Flight UA672 was operated by a Boeing 777 registered as “N217UA”. The aircraft took off from San Francisco International Airport at 17:53 local time on May 23 and landed at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport at 13:42 the following day, after ten hours and 49 minutes.

With the start of United’s operations, there will be 11 weekly flights between Barcelona and San Francisco, the third U.S. route with more flights from the Catalan capital, after Chicago O’Hare and New York JFK, in this segment also operates the low cost airline LEVEL.

  • San Francisco – Barcelona Flight UA 672 SFO 17:30 – BCN 14:00+1 daily flights.
  • Barcelona – San Francisco Flight UA 673 BCN 16:00 – SFO 19:05 daily flights.

The route is operated by Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with 276 seats in total, 50 seats in Business Class, 24 Premium Economy, 46 Economy Plus and 156 Economy. United’s European network in San Francisco also serves Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt. London-Heathrow, Munich, Amsterdam, Zurich and Rome-Fiumicino.

United serves five destinations in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife South). This summer, it is increasing its Newark-Malaga route from 3 to 7 flights per week, and Newark-Tenerife South service will be available year-round.
