Air Europa is enhancing its intra-European offerings by reactivating its seasonal route between Madrid and Athens. This summer, the Spanish airline will operate over 180 flights on this route, providing approximately 33,400 seats—a significant increase from last year.
This season, the carrier will boost its seat capacity to Athens by more than 90% compared to 2023, when 17,200 seats were available. The substantial increase is in response to rising passenger demand for the greek city, a favored tourist destination.
Flight Schedule:
- Madrid to Athens: Flight UX 1087 departs MAD at 21:45 and arrives at ATH at 02:15 the next day. Daily service.
- Athens to Madrid: Flight UX 1088 departs ATH at 03:05 and arrives at MAD at 06:10. Daily service.
The route will be serviced by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, configured with 180 seats—12 in Business Class and 168 in Economy. These narrow-body planes are ideal for medium-haul flights, offering fuel efficiency and optimized cargo capacity.
In addition to the Madrid-Athens route, Air Europa is expanding its global flight offerings for the summer season, surpassing 8.5 million seats. Highlights include the launch of flights to popular destinations such as Venice in Italy, Tunis and Marrakech in North Africa, and a new route to Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic starting on June 27.
