Breeze Airways has secured its first Essential Air Service (EAS) contract, introducing a daily route between Ogdensburg, NY, and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). This marks the return of service between these cities, which had not been connected since 2022. The new route is set to begin on September 27, with fares starting at $45 one-way.

New Routes from Washington Dulles

In addition to the Ogdensburg route, Breeze will launch three other routes from Washington Dulles, expanding to cities previously unserved by the Washington, D.C. metro area:

  • Salt Lake City-Provo, UT – Starting October 1 (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays) from $99 one-way
  • South Bend, IN – Starting November 8 (Mondays and Fridays) from $49 one-way
  • Vero Beach, FL – Starting November 21 (Thursdays and Sundays) from $69 one-way

Breeze Airways’ addition of Ogdensburg and Washington Dulles to its network brings its total city count to 66. These new services will provide greater travel options and connectivity for the regions.

«We are excited for Breeze Airways to become the 45th airline at Washington Dulles International,» said Paul Bobson, Vice President for Airline Business Development at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. «Breeze will give local travelers access to three previously unserved markets from the Washington, D.C., region while bringing nonstop service back to upstate New York.»

Senator Chuck Schumer of New York also expressed support, emphasizing the importance of the EAS Program for connecting smaller communities to major hubs. «This decision is a win-win-win for Breeze, Ogdensburg, and the North Country’s economy,» Schumer stated.

Breeze Airways’ Founder and CEO, David Neeleman, highlighted the airline’s mission to connect more unserved city pairs, saying, «These new routes to Dulles will be a huge boost not only for our network but for Ogdensburg, Provo, South Bend, and Vero Beach.»
