PLAY Airlines has scheduled scheduled scheduled flights to Valencia for the 2025 summer season, increasing its network in Spain to nine destinations. The first service will begin on May 24 with twice-weekly flights (Tuesday and Saturday) and will operate until the end of September.
The low-cost airline offers affordable fares on flights connecting North America to Europe using Reykjavik as a hub. Customers can make a stopover of up to 10 days to explore Iceland and then continue with the transatlantic journey.
In North America, PLAY’s network has services to Baltimore, Boston, New York-Stewart, Washington-Dulles, and Toronto-Hamilton. Since commencing operations in June 2021, the low-cost carrier has steadily increased its fleet to 10 A320neo family aircraft with an average age of more than three years. By 2023, PLAY has achieved an on-time performance of 83%.
The low-cost airline is considered by US readers to be the best low-cost carrier in Northern Europe. Other Spanish destinations served by PLAY include Alicante, Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Madrid, Malaga, Mallorca, and Tenerife.
“Our new service to Valencia marks PLAY’s ninth destination in Spain, further expanding our presence in this popular region. Spain remains a key market for us and we are excited to offer more travel options for our passengers as we connect North America and Europe via Iceland,” said Einar Örn Ólafsson, CEO of PLAY.
