LATAM Leads Brazilian Market Growth with New Domestic Routes in 2025

Gustavo Roe

LATAM announced it will add 4 new routes and increase its domestic flights in Brazil by 12% starting in April 2025. The growth compared to the same period in 2024 (from 641 to 700 daily domestic flights) represents further progress in its commitment to developing Brazilian aviation, the company stated.

In practice, the investment starting in April 2025 will allow LATAM’s domestic network in Brazil to grow from 52 to 54 destinations and from 124 to 128 routes, according to Aeroin.

The 4 new routes will be operated by Airbus A319 and A320 family aircraft, with a capacity of up to 174 passengers. Tickets for all new direct flights are already available on latam.com and other sales channels.

“This year alone, we have already added more than 1.3 million seats to the Brazilian domestic market. In 2025, we will continue to invest in further expanding this network in a sustainable and efficient way. This is possible because LATAM is strong and offers an increasingly attractive product with more options for all types of travelers,” explains Aline Mafra, Sales and Marketing Director of LATAM Brazil.

São Paulo/Guarulhos-Rio Branco

With an estimated 38,000 passengers per year, the new São Paulo/Guarulhos-Rio Branco route will enhance connectivity in the North region, linking Acre’s capital to 43 domestic destinations and 23 international destinations served by LATAM from its largest hub.

The route will launch with 5 weekly flights, each lasting 4 hours. Currently, Acre’s capital has 10 weekly LATAM flights to Brasília Airport, where passengers can connect to 37 domestic and 2 international destinations served by the company.

São Paulo/Congonhas-Joinville

With an estimated 137,000 passengers per year, the new São Paulo/Congonhas-Joinville route will enhance connectivity in the South region, linking the city in Santa Catarina to 25 domestic destinations served by LATAM from São Paulo’s central airport.

The route will launch with 1 daily flight, lasting 1 hour. Currently, Joinville has daily LATAM flights to Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo’s metropolitan area, but this operation will cease with the launch of the new route to Congonhas.

São Paulo/Guarulhos-Pelotas

With an estimated 20,000 passengers per year, the new São Paulo/Guarulhos-Pelotas route will also enhance connectivity in the South region, connecting the city in Rio Grande do Sul to 43 domestic and 23 international destinations served by LATAM from its largest hub.

The route will launch with 3 weekly flights, lasting 1 hour and 45 minutes. This will be LATAM’s first regular operation in Pelotas, following emergency services provided in the city from August to October this year during Porto Alegre Airport’s closure.

São Paulo/Congonhas-Ribeirão Preto

With an estimated 63,000 passengers per year, the new São Paulo/Congonhas-Ribeirão Preto route will enhance connectivity in the Southeast region. The route will launch with 1 daily flight lasting 1 hour.

This new operation will complement the São Paulo/Guarulhos-Ribeirão Preto route, operated by Voepass and available to passengers on latam.com.

LATAM highlights that it is currently the airline contributing the most flights and seats to the Brazilian market, operating the largest network in its history in Brazil, with flights to 54 airports across the country. Internationally, it is the airline connecting Brazil to the world the most, with flights from the country to 90 airports abroad.

In international operations, LATAM will conclude 2024 with the launch of routes from Brasília-Santiago, Curitiba-Lima, Fortaleza-Santiago, and Recife-Santiago. According to ANAC, LATAM led Brazil’s international air travel sector in the third quarter of 2024, with a market share of 23.45%.
