Swissport International will bring its Aspire Executive Lounges brand to Morocco after winning a bid to operate eleven lounges in nine airports across the country. According to the company, the new spaces will be available starting April 2025, offering an experience that blends local design with international hospitality standards.
The license, granted by the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA), will allow Aspire to operate in the airports of Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Laayoune, Marrakech, Nador, Oujda, Rabat, and Tangier for a ten-year period. According to Swissport, the lounges will feature aesthetics inspired by Moroccan culture, offering local food and beverage options, along with features focused on comfort and modern design.
“We are excited to expand our hospitality services to several airports in Morocco, offering modern, welcoming, and carefully designed spaces that invite all travelers to be our guests, regardless of airline or travel class” said David Collyer, Global Vice President of Aspire Executive Lounges.
Swissport has been providing ground handling services in Morocco since 2012 and offers specialized FBO services at four airports, catering to executive aviation clients. Additionally, from its offices in Casablanca, it manages the Central Load Control for global airlines and provides centralized support for its financial and human resources operations through its Swissport Business Services unit.
“For over a decade, Swissport has been a key player in the aviation sector in Morocco. Our continued expansion reflects our commitment to local growth. We are excited to also grow our airport hospitality business in the country, strengthening Morocco’s position as a leading hub in North Africa” commented Dirk Goovaerts, CEO of Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa & India for Swissport International.
Aspire and its global growth
Aspire Executive Lounges is one of the leading airport hospitality brands worldwide, with a network that includes nearly 100 lounges and serves more than six million guests annually. According to the company, over 20 new lounges were inaugurated in 2024, with plans to open more locations in the next two years.
Among its recent innovations, Aspire inaugurated the world’s first “three-tier lounge” at Newcastle Airport in the United Kingdom, offering differentiated experiences for travelers based on their preferences: Classic, Luxe, and Suites. This model responds, according to the company, to the growing demand for premium options at airports.
The company also highlighted the recognition earned by its lounge at Perth Airport, Australia, which was named Best Airport Lounge for the third consecutive year at the World Travel Awards.
