Volaris El Salvador expands its international offering with the start of its non-stop flights between San Salvador and Miami, becoming the only low-cost airline to operate in this segment, competing with American Airlines and Avianca.
The new route will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. This connection will provide Salvadoran and Central American travelers with access to the main gateway to the United States from Central and South America.
“Meeting the growing travel demand of Salvadorans and Central Americans to the United States continues to be one of the most important objectives of Volaris El Salvador. That is why, starting today, we are expanding our presence to six cities in the United States, with fare options at the lowest cost, available to travelers visiting friends and family or traveling for pleasure and business,” said Ronny Rodríguez, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Development at Volaris.
According to data obtained through statistics from the US Department of Transportation (DoT), 2,914,158 passengers were transported between the United States and El Salvador in 2023, with a growth of 23% compared to the previous year. This is the second largest market between the United States and Central America, after Panama.
This connection is mainly focused on the VFR passenger (visiting friends and/or family). The Miami metropolitan area is one of the most populated towns in South Florida, this service will boost the growth of connectivity in several destinations in Central America.
Volaris El Salvador’s US network also has services to New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Houston and Oakland. It also operates in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico City and Cancun.
