The 44th edition of the ANATO Tourist Showcase has already begun preparations to welcome over 50,000 tourism industry professionals on February 26, 27, and 28, 2025, in Bogotá. This event, considered one of the most important in the region, will feature Brazil as the highlighted international destination, with a proposal promising to showcase its cultural, historical, gastronomic, and natural diversity.
Brazil will present its renowned beaches, the Amazon ecosystem, major cities, festivals, and more, in an effort to attract tourists and strengthen bilateral relations with Colombia. According to Paula Cortés Calle, ANATO’s Executive President, “this is the best scenario to learn more about their tourism offerings, beyond the traditional, and for them to learn about ours.”According to figures from Migración Colombia, between January and October 2024, over 106,000 Brazilians visited Colombia, representing a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, over 58,613 Colombians traveled to Brazil, marking a similar increase of 2%. This growth reflects the strengthening of air connectivity and the importance of travel agencies in promoting both destinations. During the recent 28th National Congress of Travel and Tourism Agencies, held in Cartagena, the crucial role of airlines and innovation in the industry to facilitate these tourism exchanges was highlighted.
Opportunities for air connectivity
Brazil’s participation as the highlighted destination in the Tourist Showcase could open the door to new routes and flight frequencies, strengthening connectivity between both countries. The event will also be an opportunity for Colombian and Brazilian entrepreneurs to explore strategic alliances and new business opportunities, contributing to the sustainable development of the sector.
