Azul announced this Thursday (9/9) the resumption of its operations to Uruguay and the beginning of ticket sales to Montevideo and Punta del Este. The reopening of operations marks the company’s return to destinations in South America, strengthening Azul’s international offerings, which also operates to Lisbon (Portugal) and Fort Lauderdale, Florida (USA).

The highlight of the company’s resumption in Uruguayan cities is the newly manufactured Embraer 195 E2 aircraft. The aircraft will be used in the connections between Viracopos and Punta and will mark the debut of this aircraft in the company’s international flights.

According to AEROIN reports, the resumption of flights to Montevideo will occur on November 10, and the restart of operations in Punta Del Este will be on December 20, 2021, already in time for the high summer season. Tickets for the Uruguayan cities begin to be sold today, in all official Azul channels.

Montevideo route will start to be operated with four flights a week, reaching a daily flight during the high season. Punta Del Este will have weekly connections with Porto Alegre and Campinas, Azul’s largest hub in Brazil.
