After over a year with the route suspended due to restrictions imposed by Covid-19, Azul resumed operations to Orlando, Florida.

The company’s first flight to the North American city departed shortly after 10:00 a.m. on December 1 from Viracopos airport, in Campinas (SP), with high occupancy, reflecting the anxiety accumulated by Brazilians to travel abroad.

With the easing of the entry of Brazilians to U.S. soil, the company is once again operating its pre-pandemic network in that country, with 2 flights per day to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

This is how the Orlando International Airport showed through its official Twitter, the return of operations of both Azul and LATAM to its air terminal.

According to our media partner in Brazil, Aeroin, the resumption of operations in December is geared towards the school vacation season in Brazil, as the city is known for its tourist attractions and has room for people of all ages.

«Our customers were extremely anxious for the return of flights to Orlando. Everywhere I went, people were asking me when this would happen. There is pent-up demand for this destination and now, with our resumption, we will track demand and increase frequencies if it continues to grow,» said Azul President John Rodgerson.

The flights will be operated by Airbus A330neo aircraft with a capacity for up to 298 passengers, departing from Campinas at 09:50 AM and arriving in Orlando around 05:00 PM local time. The return flight takes place at 07:15 PM, with an estimated arrival at 06:00 AM.
