As of January 2022, ten cities in the interior of the state of Paraná, in southern Brazil adjacent to Argentina and Paraguay, will have regular Azul Conecta operations.
Last Thursday, December 2, Azul began selling tickets to Cianorte, Telemaco Borba, Arapongas, Campo Mourão, Apucarana, Guaíra, Francisco Beltrão, Cornélio Procópio and União da Vitória, which will have direct and regular flights to Curitiba, starting on January 24. In turn, Paranavaí will have weekly operations as of March 22, 2022.
Aeroin, our Brazilian partner, reports that the routes will be operated 3 to 4 times a week with Cessna Gran Caravan aircraft, a model used by Azul’s sub-regional carrier, Azul Conecta, which can carry up to 9 passengers. In Curitiba, customers will have the possibility to connect with about 35 daily Azul flights to 12 different destinations, such as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Londrina, Maringá, Foz do Iguaçu, Cuiabá and Campo Grande.
«A little more than 2 months ago we met with Governor Ratinho to announce our strong desire to expand our operations throughout Paraná. Today we began selling tickets to ten new destinations in the interior of the state and, later this month, we will reactivate our frequencies in Toledo, Pato Banco, Guarapuava, and Ponta Grossa. By operating in all these cities, we will create a regional hub in Curitiba, with 20 destinations served in Paraná and more than 50 daily movements in Afonso Pena. We are looking forward to seeing the results and future additions of this great operation,» says Azul Linhas Aéreas’ Director of Institutional Relations, Marcelo Bento Ribeiro.
In addition to the consolidated expansion plan of Azul in Paraná, the state capital will also add a new regular connection to Jundiaí, in São Paulo, 6 times a week. Frequencies will be offered daily in the morning and late afternoon, also operated by Azul Conecta aircraft.
