Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX), which serves Mexico City, moved 31,997,150 passengers between January and November 2021, of which 23,040,246 were domestic and 8,956,904 were international, representing a recovery of 69.85% compared to the same period in 2019.
Like other airports, cargo has been the star of the AICM, having moved 516,922 tons of goods and mail, 430,560 international, and 68,362 domestic, exceeding 2019 levels by 1.72%.
There were 294,331 air operations between January and November 2021 of which 80,790 were international and 213,541 domestic, this represents a recovery of 70.11% compared to 2019.
Over the last few months, the re-opening of countries such as the United States, Canada, and some European nations have significantly increased the movement of passengers and aircraft in the international market, so that several airlines are already offering a higher capacity than pre-pandemic levels.
Mexico City International Airport is the busiest airport in Latin America. In 2019 it had reached 50,380,049 passengers mobilized, becoming the first in the region to break the 50 million mark.
