The Polish LOT, together with the Nowa Itaka travel agency, will offer charter flights between Katowice (KTW) and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ) during the northern summer of 2022. Katowice continues to grow in the long-haul direct charter segment: Currently, four routes to the Caribbean and Mexico are operated by the Polish flag carrier on its three-class, 252-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
Long-haul destinations available from Katowice
- Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (POP) for Rainbow Tours S.A.

While most Southeast Asian vacation markets remain closed, LOT has explored several destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean during the course of the pandemic, addressing the demand for European travelers seeking sun and beach destinations. The Polish flag carrier also offers charter flights from Katowice to several destinations in Greece, Italy, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands in Spain.
In March 2021, LOT Polish resumed operations to the Dominican Republic flying to Punta Cana (PUJ) and Puerto Plata (POP) and with the support of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) has reactivated tourism between Europe and the Caribbean nation. The CAB authorized the Polish company 628 charter flights last year.
