SWISS unveils its first aircraft with its new Premium Economy product

SWISS presented its first aircraft equipped with its new Premium Economy Class at Zurich Airport (ZRH). The new class complements the Economy, Business, and First Class products offered by the Swiss flag carrier.

SWISS customers opting for Premium Economy Class will enjoy greater privacy and comfort on board. The new class will gradually be installed on all 12 Boeing 777-300ERs, and will then be available on Airbus A340/A330 aircraft in the near future.

This brand new class can now be booked through all of the company’s sales channels. Offering this new Premium Economy product positions SWISS as one of the Lufthansa Group’s leading premium brands.

The first aircraft with the company’s new product is a Boeing 777-300ER registered with the registration HB-JNH. From the beginning of March will be flying between Zurich (ZRH) – Miami (MIA). This will be the company’s first route to debut this new class.

ONBOARD COMFORT:

«Our Premium Economy Class should be especially attractive to travelers who have flown Economy Class to date and wish to improve their in-flight comfort and convenience. It therefore also helps us to strengthen our positioning as a premium airline in the growing leisure travel market» said Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Chief Commercial Officer of SWISS.

After Miami (MIA), the Swiss airline’s next destination to introduce the new Premium Economy Class will be San Francisco (SFO) on the West Coast of the United States. They will start in mid-April and São Paulo (GRU) in Brazil will start at the end of April. The new airline’s product will be available on all Boeing 777-300ER routes by the end of May.

According to data obtained through the Cirium platform, during the season the Swiss carrier’s Boeing 777s will serve six routes. Those are Los Angeles (LAX), Singapore (SIN), Buenos Aires (EZE), Bangkok (BKK), Hong Kong (HKG), and Shanghai (PVG).

During an introductory phase of the new class, customers will be offered SWISS Premium Economy upgrades for a fee if available on their flight, either at check-in or at the gate.
