Air Transat has announced its schedule for the 2022 boreal summer season with the resumption and launches of several routes in Europe. The Canadian leisure airline will focus much of its operations on the transatlantic market and will continue to offer an offering to the U.S. state of Florida and several Caribbean routes.
At the height of the summer season, Air Transat will operate more than 250 weekly flights on 69 direct routes.
«The numbers clearly tell us that with the gradual lifting of travel restrictions around the world, people are more ready than ever to plan their next trip. Whether to Europe, the United States, Canada or southern destinations,» said Joseph Adamo, Air Transat’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.
Back in the transatlantic business
Starting in April from Montreal (YUL), Air Transat will gradually resume service to 16 European destinations, including a new service to Amsterdam (AMS). The airline will again offer non-stop flights to Athens (ATH), Basel – Mulhouse (BSL) Barcelona (BCN), Brussels (BRU), Madrid (MAD), Porto (OPO), Rome (FCO), and Venice (VCE).
In addition, it will offer more destinations to France than any other Canadian carrier. Its offering includes Bordeaux (BOD), Lyon (LYS), Marseille (MRS), Nantes (NTE), Nice (NCE), and Toulouse (TLS). In addition, the airline offers flights to Malaga (AGP) and Lisbon (LIS), and during the high season will offer up to 14 weekly frequencies to Paris (CDG).
From Quebec City (YQB) Air Transat will be the only Canadian airline to offer flights to two European capitals. Starting in April to Paris (CDG) and from May to London Gatwick (LGW).
From Toronto (YYZ), Air Transat will offer service to 15 European cities during the summer.
Routes to Amsterdam (AMS), Athens (ATH), Barcelona (BCN), Dublin (DUB), Lamezia (SUF), Paris (CDG), Venice (VCE), and Zagreb (ZAG) will be offered again. This comes in addition to flights currently operated to Glasgow (GLA), Lisbon (LIS), London Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN) and Porto (OPO).
Due to high demand in southern Portugal, the airline will operate year-round to Faro (FAO).
