Citing pilot shortage, United’s regional feeder SkyWest Airlines drops EAS service to 29 cities

Citing pilot shortage, United’s feeder SkyWest Airlines informed the Department of Transportation that it will be cutting service to a significant number of small cities that were served under the Essential Air Services program.

According to Airline Weekly, a SkyWest spokesperson said the cuts are the result of “an ongoing pilot staffing imbalance across the industry.”

The cities that will no longer have SkyWest flights are:

Devils Lake
Dodge City
Eau Claire
Fort Dodge
Fort Leonard Wood
Hattiesburg
Hays
Houghton
Jamestown
Johnstown
Joplin
Kearney
Lewisburg
Liberal
Mason City
Meridian
Muskegon
North Platte
Paducah
Pueblo
Salina
Scottsbluff
Shenandoah Valley
Sioux City
Victoria
