In a new wave of Russian attacks on the outskirts of Kyiv, the Antonov factory was hit by artillery, causing massive damage and at least two dead and seven wounded, according to preliminary reports.
Among other facilities, the hangar where the second An-225 «Mriya» – which had reached 70% of its production progress before being cancelled- was stored is located at the site of the attack.
With this attack, and if the storage hangar was indeed hit, the chances – already difficult – of using this second structure to recover the model destroyed at Hostomel airport would become practically non-existent.

Antonov’s manufacturing complex and offices are located at Sviatoshyn airfield, 11 km northwest of downtown Kyiv and 10 km southeast of the airport where the only operational An-225 has been destroyed.
This is a developing story.
