Major Dmytro Antonov, famous for flying the giant planes of Ukrainian state-owned Antonov Airlines and posting the videos on his YouTube channel, said he was being threatened after the release on Friday (18) of a video in which he blames the airline’s board of directors for the loss of the AN-225, the world’s largest aircraft.
In the recording, he claims that the company’s leadership was warned in January by NATO and employees of Antonov Logistics, the company’s German arm, about an impending invasion by Russia and that it would be prudent to withdraw the aircraft from Ukraine and bring them to Leipzig, our partner media outlet Aeroin.net reports.
Now, in a brief new video, released on Saturday (19), Antonov says it has received threats.
«The airline management did not like my material. I just stated two facts, indirect causes of the death of the An-225 Mriya, without saying who, when or how. I just said that there was no response to the proposal of NATO and Antonov Logistics SALIS and also that a firm decision on the transfer of the aircraft by the management was missing. Well, what can I do. I will continue to fight, because justice will prevail,» Dmytro noted.
«I have received some threats. This morning I received a call from the head of the airline with threats as well. Let them threaten. [They did] a little revenge, they blocked my phone. As long as I still have access to the Internet, everything is fine,» he added.
Finally, he promises to keep his followers updated on the whole development of this story with daily videos as much as possible. Saturday’s video is available below:
