The P-Mentor is the latest design of the light aircraft family of the Italian firm Tecnam. The model was designed and is produced at the Casoria facility, and its main purpose is to serve for pilot training.
Ryanair’s future pilots will learn at P-Mentor will learn at P-Mentor
Bartolini Air, in charge of training Ryanair pilots, will use the P-Mentor for the «Ryanair Mentored Programme». The model will contribute especially to the instrument rating, as it has PBN/RNAV and glass cockpit approval. The model uses the Rotax 912iSc engine, coupled to an MT constant speed propeller.
Bartolini Air president Bartlomiej Walas said the addition of the P-Mentor to its fleet «will improve the training process.» Bartolini Air has owned 14 Tecnam aircraft and has participated in Ryanair’s pilot training since 2010. «This is not the first time we have relied on Tecnam for our training program,» Walas closed.

For his part, Ryanair’s sustainability director, Thomas Fowler, added: «We are pleased that Bartolini Air is using this Tecnam model. From a sustainability point of view, it will have a hugely positive impact, reducing CO2 emissions by 60% compared to current trainer aircraft.»
The Danish Center Air Pilot school bought five P-Mentors
Tecnam also signed a contract with the Danish flight school Center Air Pilot. The agreement was for a total of seven aircraft: five P-Mentor and two twin-engine P2006T MKII. This fleet renewal will improve the quality of training and help reduce costs for both trainees and the operator.
Simon Frost, the owner of Center Air Pilot, said of this agreement: «The Tecnam aircraft have far outperformed the competition in our requirements analysis. With their low fuel consumption, they will help us to significantly reduce our emissions in relation to our current fleet.
Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s head of sales, added: «We do not just produce and sell aircraft. Together, we in the training industry can participate in safer and more sustainable aeronautics».
Aerotec adds more Tecnam equipment to its fleet
Aerotec has once again chosen Tecnam and will add five units of the model to its training program. In this regard, Marqués Fernandez-Bernal, founder and CEO of Aerotec, noted that the school chose the P-Mentor «for its undoubted features and advantages. Our experience is focused on the operation of the P2008 and P2006T. We are pleased to offer in our courses what is probably the best modern training aircraft».
