Last week, Delta resumed multiple non-stop services between the United States and Italy from its main transatlantic hubs in Atlanta (ATL), New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS), for this summer season the airline will offer up to 68 weekly flights between the two nations.
According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Ente Nazionale Per L’Aviazione Civile (ENAC), Delta moved between the United States and Italy 891,318 passengers in 2019, making it the second largest North American operator in the European peninsula.

Atlanta (ATL) – Milan Malpensa (MXP)
As of May 1, services resumed on this route with five weekly flights on 216-seat Boeing 767-300ERs with refurbished cabins and as of May 27 increased to daily flights:
- Flight DL 174 ATL 18:15 – MXP 09:30+1
- Flight DL 175 MXP 11:30 – ATL 16:00
Atlanta (ATL) – Rome Fiumicino (FCO)
As of May 6, the airline adds a second additional frequency on this route operated three times a week on 282-seat Airbus A330-300s with refurbished cabins and as of May 26 increases to daily flights:
- Flight DL 62 ATL 17:05 – FCO 08:50+1
- Flight DL 63 FCO 10:05 – ATL 15:20
According to data compiled by ENAC in 2019 this route mobilized 240,865 passengers.
Boston (BOS) – Rome Fiumicino (FCO)
Since May 5, the airline brought back its service to Italy from Logan Airport (BOS) which was released last year, will have an operation of five weekly flights on Airbus A330-300 and from May 27 increases to daily flights:
- Flight DL 112 BOS 17:15 – FCO 07:30+1
- Flight DL 113 FCO 10:50 – BOS 14:10
According to data compiled by ENAC in 2019 this route mobilized 182,916 passengers.
New York (JFK) – Milan Malpensa (MXP)
As of May 6, Delta adds a second frequency to this service with three weekly flights operated on 216-seat Boeing 767-300ERs and as of May 26 increases to five times per week:
- Flight DL 184 JFK 20:35 – MXP 11:00+1
- Flight DL 185 MXP 13:00 – JFK 16:15
According to data obtained by ENAC, the segment between New York (JFK) and Milan (MXP) was the main intercontinental route between the United States and Italy, 875-322 passengers were mobilized in 2019.
More flights to Venice
Since May 5 the company establishes its operations between New York (JFK) and Venice (VCE) with five weekly flights and increases to every day from May 27. Also on the same day it restarts operations between the city of canals and Atlanta (ATL) with daily flights, both routes will be operated by Boeing 767-300ER.

The largest offer in its history to Italy
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Delta will be the largest North American operator between the United States and Italy with an offer of 34,402 seats per week on 136 air operations.
In addition, since last year the airline has been code-sharing with ITA Airways, the successor to its former partner Alitalia.
