Greek airline Sky Express announced its strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines. Starting May 19th, the U.S. airline’s customers flying to Athens will be able to connect to all 34 Sky Express destinations in the southern European country.

The agreement with Delta adds to those already concluded with Air France, KLM, Qatar Airways, American Airlines, Cyprus Airways, Condor, El Al, Middle East Airlines, Transavia and Emirates. According to SKY Express, the partnerships are intended to increase the already active demand for Greece’s tourist destinations.

The announcement comes weeks before the start of the summer season, the busiest time for visitors. «With trade and tourism flows increasing between our countries, Delta′s partnership with SKY Express gives our customers more versatility when it comes to planning the perfect Greek getaway», said Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Alliances.

Commenting on the agreement, Yiannis Lidakis, SKY Express Chief Commercial Officer, noted: «It is based on the combination of the youngest and greenest fleet and an unrivalled network that will allow travellers across the United States to connect to the magical charm of our country.»

SKY Express is based at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (ATH). It operates a fleet comprised of ATR 42-500, 72-500, 72-600 and Airbus A320neo aircraft. It offers an important network of domestic destinations, mainly in the Mediterranean and the Aegean. In the rest of Europe, it provides scheduled services to Larnaca, Rome, Paris, Brussels and London.
