Austrian Airlines inaugural a Valencia

On June 4 Austrian Airlines inaugurated its eighth destination in Spain, with a new non-stop service between Vienna (VIE) and Valencia (VLC) with two weekly flights (Tuesday and Saturday). Flight OS 441 took off from the Austrian capital at 16:18 local time and landed at Manises Airport (VLC) at 19:03.

Data compiled by Aviacionline through Aena Statistics indicates that for the first quarter of 2022, the Austrian flag carrier mobilized a total of 87,072 passengers, almost the same as at 2019 levels, and 18.5 tons of cargo in 584 air operations.

«This new route means significantly expanding the travel possibilities for users, since in addition to the direct flight to Vienna, the airline offers convenient connections to European and intercontinental destinations, such as, for example, Athens, Bangkok, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Yerevan, Stockholm, Prague or Warsaw, through its hub at the Austrian airport» said Joaquín Rodríguez, Director of Valencia Airport.

This non-stop service will be operated by Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, from July 3 this route will increase from two to four flights per week and will have an offer of 1,500 seats per week.

During 2021, Spain was one of Austrian Airlines’ strongest recovery markets, even surpassing pre-pandemic levels, the company mobilized a total of 1444,554 passengers, representing an increase of 64.6% compared to 2019 and a total of 15.4 tons of cargo in 1,314 air operations.

Austrian Airlines schedule in Spain for summer 2022.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the Austrian carrier will have an offer of 18,036 seats per week between Vienna (VIE) and Spain on eight destinations, the schedule is as follows:

  • Ibiza (IBZ) five times a week.

  • Menorca (MAH) once a week.

  • Tenerife – South (TFS) twice a week.
  • Valencia (VLC) four flights per week.

Austrian España
