Thai Airways will have flights to Saudi Arabia

Starting August 19 Thai Airways will start flights between Bangkok (BKK) and Jeddah (JED) with four weekly flights, ending a 32-year hiatus. During the launch of this route Piyasvasti Amranand, Chairman of Thai’s management team, was present along with other executives and media.

“The new Bangkok-Jeddah service would further enhance bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Thailand while promoting economic and tourism development of both countries. It also accommodates the travel demand of pilgrims for THAI has continuously operated special hajj pilgrimage flights to Mecca and Medina since 2005” said Suvadhana Sibunruang, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Thai Airways.

Thai JeddahThe new service aims to attract pilgrims, business and leisure passengers traveling between Southeast Asia and the Middle East, in addition to strengthening the air connection between Thailand and Saudi Arabia and being the first carrier to resume flights between the two nations.

Travelers will also be able to opt for package tours to Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries through Thai Royal Orchid Holidays.

Flight Itinerary

  • Bangkok – Jeddah Flight TG 503 BKK 18:45 – JED 22:40 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Jeddah – Bangkok Flight TG 504 JED 00:40 – BKK 13:10 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The route will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 256 seats in two classes (22 Royal Silk/256 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 364 each way, in addition the company offers a baggage allowance of 40 kg in Royal Silk and 35 kg in Economy.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Thai Airways will offer 2,048 seats per week between Thailand and Saudi Arabia, the route to Jeddah (JED) will be the company’s only non-stop service in the Middle East.
