Etihad Airways increases its flights to New York

Etihad Airways will increase from 7 to 11 weekly flights on the Abu Dhabi (AUH) – New York (JFK) route for the winter boreal season 2022/2023. The company will have an offer of 7,586 seats per week to John F. Kennedy Airport.

From November 15, the second service will be available with four flights per week operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 299 passengers in two classes (28 Business Class/271 Economy), which will complement the daily operations of the Airbus A350-1000. These widebody aircraft are the most fuel-efficient and carbon-efficient compared to previous models.

The increased frequencies will offer travelers greater connectivity, as passengers from New York will be able to take advantage of connecting through Abu Dhabi (AUH) to all 70 destinations in Etihad’s global network, including popular destinations in the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.

Similarly, from John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) users will be able to enjoy connecting from 46 destinations across the Americas through codeshares with JetBlue, Etihad’s current U.S. partner.

“Etihad is enhancing its schedule this winter to bring even more choice to our guests in key business and leisure destinations across our global network,” said Alex Featherstone, vice president of network planning and alliances.

“Our New York service continues to perform strongly and, having already experienced record passenger demand this summer, Etihad is pleased to continue to invest in this market by increasing frequency levels ahead of the peak winter travel period,” Featherstone added.

Etihad passengers traveling to the United States will be able to take advantage of Etihad’s U.S. pre-clearance facilities, the only U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility in the Middle East.

For this northern winter season, Etihad will have an offering of 16,070 seats per week on 25 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and the United States including scheduling 11 flights per week to New York (JFK) and daily services from Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) and Washington – Dulles (IAD). The airline will increase its premium seat capacity by 50% compared to the previous winter.
