Spirit Airlines to have night flights at Palmerola

Spirit Airlines will offer night flights between Tegucigalpa – Palmerola (XPL) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Florida’s third largest airport. The airline will increase its capacity on this route by 100% with the new service.

The new frequency will be available beginning November 30, and tickets are now available for sale from the airline’s website.

“Grateful with Spirit Airlines that will add from next November 30 to the night flights in Palmerola with a second frequency to Fort Lauderdale, increasing the connectivity of Palmerola and Honduras. We keep working and moving forward!” said Lenir Peréz, president of Grupo Emco Holding.

“This additional flight provides the Tegucigalpa region with another convenient option for our guests who want to enjoy Honduran culture and those who want to visit friends and family,” Mauricio Acosta, general manager of Spirit Airlines in Honduras.

Spirit Airlines was the first airline to operate at Palmerola International Airport (XPL) and is also the only low-cost carrier, and for the northern winter season will be the second largest carrier between the U.S. and Honduras.

“Palmerola continues to grow in connectivity offering more options for our passengers. This demonstrates the confidence airlines have in the operations we are conducting,” said Peter Fleming, representative of Palmerola International Airport.
