JetBlue and LOT Polish Airlines, set to restart interline agreement

LOT Polish Airlines Rafal Milczarski announced in a meeting with journalists in New York that the European carrier and JetBlue are set to restart an interline agreement that will allow passengers to connect a trip throughout the American operator’s network with a LOT flight in a single ticket.

«Passengers from Poland on a single ticket will be able to fly, for example, to San Francisco, but also to the Caribbean. We have started an interline cooperation with JetBlue», reports money.pl.  This collaboration revives the one the two companies set in 2012, when they set an interline deal that offered connections with a transfer at JFK.

Besides JetBlue, LOT is part of Star Alliance, what brings it closer to United through a codeshare agreement. While there is no indication that LOT is set to abandon Star Alliance, codeshare will always fall a little short if there’s an interline agreement that can cover a similar interest.

This agreement will open the door to European passengers to JetBlue’s extensive network in the US -to be even more extensive after Spirit’s deal moves forward-, but also to several destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and South America, among others.
