Emirates returns to Airbus A380 flights to Houston

This Thursday (1) Emirates is flying Airbus A380s again on its Dubai (DXB) – Houston (IAH) route, replacing the Boeing 777-200LR operation. The carrier’s last service of the superjumbo in Texas was March 29, 2020.

Flight EK 211 was operated on an A380 registered with the registration A6-EUL, which took off from Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:15 and landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) at 16:23, after 16 hours and eight minutes.

According to data obtained through Cirium, Emirates will offer 7,224 weekly seats between Dubai (DXB) and Houston (IAH) in December, representing an increase of more than 70% compared to the previous month.

Flight Itinerary

  • Dubai – Houston Flight EK 211 DXB 09:45 – IAH 16:20 daily flights.
  • Houston – Dubai Flight EK 212 IAH 19:10 – DXB 19:45+1 daily flights.

Currently, the Middle Eastern airline provides second A380 service in Texas complementing British Airways with its route between Dallas (DFW) and London – Heathrow (LHR), prior to the pandemic other airlines operating the superjumbo in the state were Lufthansa with a non-stop connection between Frankfurt (FRA) and Houston (IAH) and Qantas with Sydney (SYD) – Dallas (DFW).

Emirates now consolidates its position as the second largest Middle Eastern carrier in Texas in terms of seat kilometers offered, after increasing its operations in Houston (IAH), the company also offers daily flights between Dubai (DXB) and Dallas (DFW) in Boeing 777-200LR with a capacity of 302 passengers.

The Emirati airline also offers non-stop Airbus A380 service from Dubai (DXB) to San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX) and Washington – Dulles (IAD); and from Milan – Malpensa (MXP) and John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).
