American Airlines is expanding its offerings from New York – LaGuardia (LGA) with six new services, part of the Northeast Alliance (NEA) plan with JetBlue. Currently, the alliance between the two airlines offers the largest seat capacity at LGA according to Cirium.
NEA by next year will offer more than 500 daily flights from the three major New York metropolitan area airports and 200 daily operations from Boston (BOS).
«Giving customers more options for travel is a fundamental part of Northeast Alliance,» said Anmol Bhargava, American’s vice president of global alliances and partnerships.
«We are pleased that with our partner, JetBlue, we will now serve 45 of LGA’s top 50 domestic markets,» Anmol added.
American’s new routes at New York – LaGuardia (LGA)
All start May 5, 2023.
- Birmingham, Alabama (BHM).
- Buffalo, New York (BUF).
- Columbia, South Carolina (CAE).
- Grand Rapids, Michigan (GRR).
- Greenville, South Carolina (GSP).
- Knoxville, Tennessee (TYS).
In addition, American will make operational changes on some routes, the service between New York – LaGuardia (LGA) and Asheville (AVL) will change from operating seasonally to serving year-round, it will also add more flights between Boston (BOS) and Louisville, Kentucky (SDF).
Since the NEA’s inception, approximately 50 new routes have been created from New York (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), Boston (BOS) and Newark (EWR); increased operations on more than 130 existing routes; 90 nonstop routes with increased seat capacity; and 17 new international routes launched.
