As of July 2, 2023, Emirates will resume Airbus A380 operations to Birmingham (BHX), this will be the airline’s fourth destination in the UK where it operates this aircraft. The airline last operated the superjumbo at BHX on March 29, 2020.
Emirates will have a July 2023 offering of 14,602 seats per week between Dubai (DXB) and Birmingham (BHX) according to Cirium: a 6.6% increase in capacity compared to 2019 levels.
Flight Itinerary.
- Dubai – Birmingham Flight EK 39 DXB 07:40 – BHX 12:25 daily flights.
- Birmingham – Dubai Flight EK 40 BHX 14:20 – DXB 00:25+1 daily flights.
Services will be operated on Airbus A380s seating 615 passengers in classes (58 Business Class/557 Economy). EK 37/EK 38 flights will continue to be operated on two-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Emirates first operated the superjumbo to Birmingham in March 2016.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) 702,283 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Birmingham and Dubai. DXB is BHX’s main intercontinental destination.
Emirates for the 2023 summer season operates UK Airbus A380s to London – Heathrow (LHR), London – Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN) and soon Birmingham (BHX).
