AerCap took delivery of its fiftieth Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter (BCF). The conversion of the aircraft was carried out at COOPESA, and it was immediately delivered to GOL Linhas Aéreas, who will operate it on behalf of a Latin American e-commerce company as part of the growth strategy of GOLLOG, the airline’s logistics unit.

In 2016, AerCap Cargo was the launch customer for the Boeing 737-800 BCF. It took delivery of its first aircraft in April 2018. “We are delighted to celebrate this delivery together with our partners at Boeing and our long-standing customer GOL Linhas Aéreas. Since launching the BCF program in 2016, we have seen unprecedented demand for airfreight from e-commerce companies,” Rich Greener, head of AerCap Cargo, said.

“Today, the 737-800 BCF is one of the most in-demand narrowbody cargo aircraft in the industry, thanks to its versatility and reliability, making it the perfect choice for express air cargo and e-commerce networks,” the executive added.

“We thank AerCap Cargo for their confidence in the 737-800 BCF and congratulate them on this milestone,” said Kate Schaefer, vice president of Boeing’s Commercial Modifications, Engineering, and Special Products. “The BCF program team has overcome global challenges over the past few years and is a testament to our continued commitment to our customer’s success.”

AerCap Cargo has more than 25 years of experience in cargo aircraft leasing, including passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions, with more than 100 successful conversions completed. AerCap Cargo’s Boeing 737-800 BCF customers include West Atlantic Group, Amazon Air, GOL, JD.com, Kargo Xpress, ASL, and Longhao Airlines.
