Kuwait Airways unveiled at the end of January the expansion of its destination network, new cabin crew uniforms, the launch of new seats of its Airbus A330neo aircraft and improvements to customer services. The company will implement the changes gradually starting this year.

During the upcoming northern summer season, the Kuwait City-based company will launch flights to Athens, Barcelona, Antalya, Al-Qassim and Taif.

According to Al-Dukhan, the airline’s Chairman, «the new look is a continuation of the company’s transformation programs and attaining the levels of beyond excellence». He said the changes «will bring about a comprehensive transformation in all the services» and will enable the airline to achieve «the best international standards of the commercial air transport sector».

Al-Dukhan noted that Kuwait Airways achieved positive results in 2022. The company’s revenues grew by 115% compared to 2021 and by 10% compared to 2019. Moreover, profit margin increased by 37% compared to 2021 and 40% compared to the last full year before the start of the pandemic.

Finally, he reported that the company expects to carry 4.5 million more passengers during 2023 and increase its operations by more than 30%.

Maen Razouqi, CEO of Kuwait Airways, said the company «seeks to create a new imprint for its valued customers by launching new services and products».

New customer services

At an event on 26 January, Kuwait Airways unveiled to attendees a range of customer service enhancements.

At the end of February, the airline will launch a home check-in service that will be available to Royal Class passengers on flights to all of the airline’s destinations except New York (JFK). It will include the use of new check-in slots, streamlined boarding pass issuance procedures and free transportation to the airport.

Acceptance can be completed after ticketing is complete, both via the official website and the mobile app. The company will send a vehicle to the declared address within 24 hours prior to flight departure to collect the baggage to be checked in. In addition, Royal and Business Premium users will be able to access a private limousine shuttle service to travel to the terminal.

Kuwait Airways also said it will launch new in-flight menus on a regular basis «that suit the tastes and preferences» of the customers. Kuwaiti chefs will be involved in their design.

It will also expand the Al Mubarakiya Lounge at Kuwait International Airport’s (KWI) Terminal 4 due to growing demand for tickets and increased air traffic recently. The lounge will be renamed Elite and will open at the end of April 2023.

New uniforms for cabin crew unveiled

During the ceremony, the airline unveiled its new cabin crew uniforms, designed in collaboration with Italian designer Ettore Bilotta. The design, which the airline says unites modernity with its heritage, «combines the features of diamonds with desert colours».
