Spirit Airlines will fly to San Jose, California (SJC) for the first time in June with the launch of new routes from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), San Diego (SAN) and Las Vegas (LAS). The carrier will be operating two of the three major airports in the San Francisco Bay Area metropolitan area, currently the low-cost carrier offers nonstop flights to Oakland (OAK).

All routes will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft seating 182 passengers in two classes (8 Big Front/174 Economy).

With this new service, it will fly to seven airports in the state of California, complementing its operations to Burbank (BUR), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), Orange County (SNA), Sacramento (SMF) and San Diego (SAN). Spirit first landed in California in 2000 with a route to LAX and has grown to more than 55 daily flights to 23 out-of-state destinations.
In the last three years, the low-cost carrier has increased the number of operations by 41% and seat capacity in California by 46%.
