This Thursday (2), Canada Jetlines landed for the first time in Costa Rica with a charter service between Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) and Liberia/Guanacaste (LIR). The low-cost airline continues to make a significant commitment to the charter segment with multiple operations in the domestic and Central American and Caribbean markets.
112 passengers boarded on flight AU 8602, which was operated in an Airbus A320 with the registration number C-GCJK. In addition, 661,576 foreign travellers arrived at Daniel Oduber Quirós Airport, representing an increase of 10.4% compared to 2019 levels. The Toronto – Liberia/Guanacaste segment is currently served by WestJet, Air Canada, Air Transat and Sunwing.
Canada Jetlines earlier this year began expanding its network with international connections, in February began scheduled flights to Las Vegas (LAS); and is scheduled to begin non-stop flights to Cancun (CUN) starting on March 3, and Orlando – Melbourne (MLB) starting on April 6, the latter being its second US destination. All these services are operated from Toronto – Pearson (YYZ).
