Ultra low-cost airline Swoop announced its flight schedule for summer 2023. Extending flights to Mexico and adding new routes is the Canadian carrier’s plan.

«As Canada’s leading low-cost carrier, we are proud to expand our coast-to-coast presence with our summer schedule,» said Bob Cummings, President of Swoop. «Convenience and affordability are paramount, so we are focusing our ultra-low-cost flights on true ULCC markets that allow more Canadians to explore their big, beautiful backyard.»

The new service to be offered by Swoop is the connection between London, Ontario (YXU) and Abbotsford (YXX) with four weekly flights. It will also resume service between Hamilton (HYM) and Charlottetown (YYG).

With respect to the increase in frequencies, the company seeks to strengthen its network in southern Ontario, reactivating its routes to Deer Lake, NL (YDF) serving this destination six times a week from Hamilton (YHM) and Toronto (YYZ).

Swoop also announced the extension of service between Edmonton (YEG) and Abbotsford (YXX) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) and Los Cabos (SJD) in Mexico. These routes will be available through the end of June.

During 2022 Swoop maintained steady growth in its fleet, allowing it to offer more seats and meet current demand. The ultra low cost carrier increased its presence in Canada by focusing on the country’s east coast.

Swoop operates a fleet of 16 Boeing family aircraft, consisting of 10 Boeing 737-800s and 6 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.
