Southwest Airlines yesterday unveiled it schedule of flights through November 2023 and introduced new domestic routes, as well as to Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica.
More Southwest flights from Kansas City
The low-cost carrier announced two new routes from Kansas City International Airport (MCI). Starting October 7, Southwest will have a weekly flight to Los Cabos (SJD), Mexico, and Montego Bay (MBJ), Jamaica.
Both routes are still subject to regulatory approval.
In addition, as of 5 October, Southwest will operate daily between Kansas City (MCI) and Cancún (CUN), Mexico, a route the airline already offers.
New connections from Long Beach
Southwest also announced the launch of new services from Long Beach Airport (LGB), near Los Angeles, where it is the main carrier.
Beginning October 7, it will expand connections to the Pacific Northwest region: the carrier will offer twice-weekly flights (on Saturdays and Sundays) to Boise (BOI), Idaho, and Portland (PDX), Oregon.
On 11 July, the airline will inaugurate daily flights from Long Beach (LGB) to Colorado Springs (COS), Colorado, and El Paso (ELP), Texas. Four days later, it will begin operating a weekly service (Saturdays) to Orlando (MCO), Florida. Beginning 5 September, Southwest will fly daily between Long Beach and Albuquerque (ABQ), New Mexico.
In addition, Southwest yesterday inaugurated direct flights between Long Beach (LGB) and Kansas City (MCI).
More flights from Denver
Southwest will also increase its offer at Denver International Airport (DEN), one of its main hubs, ahead of the winter season.
Starting in October, the airline will offer up to 310 daily departures from the airport. Frequency to San José (SJO), Costa Rica, will be increased to daily service.
