On March 11 Southwest Airlines began flights between Denver (DEN) and San Jose (SJO), this is the second route of the company between Colorado and Costa Rica. This service will be seasonal and will be available until September 2.
Flight WN 710 boarded 173 passengers with an occupancy factor of 98.8% and was operated in a Boeing 737 MAX registered with registration number N8317M, which took off from Denver International Airport (DEN) at 07:16 and landed at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) at 13:05, after four hours and 49 minutes.
The company also offers non-stop flights from Houston – Hobby (IAH) and Baltimore (BWI) to San Jose (SJO). Currently, Southwest offers 6,740 seats per week between the United States and Costa Rica, according to Cirium data, and is the sixth largest carrier in this segment in terms of seats per seat kilometers (ASK) with an 8.9% share of the market.

- Denver – San José Flight WN 710 DEN 07:00 – SJO 12:10 Saturday.
- San José – Denver Flight WN 707 SJO 12:30 – DEN 18:10 Saturday.
The route is operated in Boeing 737-8 aircraft with a capacity of 175 passengers in single economy class configuration and promotional fares are available from USD 238 round trip.

According to information obtained through statistics from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), 727,724 tourists from the United States were mobilized in 2022 at Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). Currently, San José (SJO) is connected to 35 destinations worldwide through 25 international and two domestic airlines.
