EVA to Add Five Additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners

Martin Romero

EVA Air announced an order for five new Boeing 787-9s. The Taiwan-based carrier expects first delivery in 2025 and have all five aircraft operational by the end of 2027.

The 787-9 Dreamliner is the longest-range aircraft in the family. This model will operate primarily on routes to Europe and North America. The 787-10 will continue to operate on regional routes in Asia and Oceania.

The company will add «Royal Laurel«, «Deluxe Economy» and «Economy 3» cabins to its 787-9 fleet by the middle of next year. These new cabin configurations will help meet operational demand and increase competitiveness in the market. The 787-10 fleet will maintain the current configuration with «Laurel» and «Economy» cabins.

More comfort and travel quality

The 787 Dreamliner has a new air purification system that makes the flight experience more comfortable. The filtration system recirculates the cabin regularly, allowing the effective removal of odors and harmful particles from the air.

The composite construction of the Dreamliners’ fuselage resists corrosion, allowing cabin humidity to increase by 10-15% compared to previous generation models.

EVA Air has an operating fleet of 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliners: 6 units of the 787-10 model and 4 units of the 787-9 model.
