Air Canada strengthens its connectivity to Spain

Air Canada will reactivate its operations to Spain for the summer season and will have year-round routes between Toronto (YYZ) – Madrid (MAD) starting in May, and Montreal (YUL) – Barcelona (BCN) starting at the end of March.

For the summer season, the Canadian airline will have an offer of 12,134 weekly seats between Spain and Canada according to information obtained by the Cirium platform, representing an increase of 3.2% compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Air Canada is the airline that offers the most flights between Spain and Canada, in addition to being the only airline that operates year-round service to the Spanish and Catalan capital from Canada. The airline will also have seasonal service between Toronto (YYZ) and Barcelona (BCN).

Toronto – Madrid

Starts May 1

  • Toronto – Madrid Flight AC 824 YYZ 21:35 – MAD 11:00+1 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Madrid – Toronto Flight AC 825 MAD 12:30 – YYZ 15:25 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The route will be operated on Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 297 seats in three classes (32 Business Class/24 Premium Economy/241 Economy).

Toronto – Barcelona

Scheduled from March 26 to October 28.

  • Toronto – Barcelona Flight AC 820 YYZ 20:15 – BCN 10:00+1
  • Barcelona – Toronto Flight AC 821 BCN 11:55 – YYZ 14:50
Route details
  • Initially starts with four weekly flights operated by Airbus A330-300.
  • From May 25 it will operate daily on Boeing 777-300ER with a capacity of 400 passengers in three classes (40 Business Class/24 Premium Economy/336 Economy).

Montreal – Barcelona

Starts on March 28.

  • Montreal – Barcelona Flight AC 822 YUL 20:05 – BCN 09:40+1
  • Barcelona – Montreal Flight AC 823 BCN 13:00 – YUL 15:30

  • The route will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
  • Initially it will have three weekly flights.
  • Starting in May, it will increase to five weekly flights (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday).

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, Air Canada in 2022 mobilized 187,004 passengers and 11,380.4 tons of cargo between Spain and Canada in 1,014 operations.
