Air Europa will increase its flights between Lanzarote and the Iberian Peninsula by 15% from the middle of the year. The Spanish carrier will offer around 15.000 additional seats compared to 2022, increase frequencies and inaugurate new routes from next June.

During the northern summer of 2023, Air Europa will operate flights between Lanzarote and four airports in mainland Spain.

At a ceremony held yesterday in Madrid in the presence of Jesús Nuño de la Rosa, the company’s CEO, and María Dolores Corujo, President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, as well as other authorities from the island, Air Europa christened one of its Boeing 737-800s with the name «César Manrique», in honour of the Arrecife-born artist who also gives his name to the César Manrique-Lanzarote International Airport (ACE), the largest airport on the Canary Island.

«We are very happy to celebrate a day like today in which the name of Air Europa will be linked to that of César Manrique», said Nuño de la Rosa. «We feel very identified with the environmental values that the artist always displayed», he added.

From 26 June and throughout the summer season, Air Europa will operate flights between Lanzarote (ACE) and Barcelona (BCN).
