«Air Canada is delighted to offer an easier way to visit Yellowknife and its magical Northern charms, just as the Northern Lights start their vibrant display. However, this route isn’t merely about tourism; it’s also an important link for business and economic travel, bridging Yellowknife and Canada’s financial powerhouse directly,» shares Mark Galardo, Executive Vice-President of Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada.

Aviacionline, via Cirium data, reports that the airline will offer 4,042 weekly seats to and from the Northeast Territories’ capital come December. This new route will be augmented by twice-daily service between Vancouver and Yellowknife, plus a daily flight between Edmonton and Yellowknife.

Minister of Infrastructure for the Northwest Territories, Diane Archie, said, «Air travel remains a crucial link keeping the North and its inhabitants connected to the south and beyond. As we see air travel rebound towards pre-pandemic levels, we eagerly anticipate Air Canada’s new non-stop Yellowknife-Toronto flight.»
