Ethiopian Airlines Launches Unprecedented Service to Copenhagen

Ethiopian Copenhague

On May 20, Ethiopian Airlines marked the commencement of its operations between Addis Ababa and Copenhagen, featuring a layover in Vienna. This new service enhances the airline’s coverage, connecting it to the three Scandinavian capitals, and expands its network to a total of 17 passenger destinations across Europe.

The maiden flight of this service, Flight ET 724, was conducted on a Boeing 787-8 with the registration ET-ASH, affectionately known as “Mountain Nyala”. The aircraft initiated its journey from Bole International Airport (ADD) at 01:00 local time, making its stopover at Vienna Airport (VIE) at 05:52 following approximately six hours of travel.

The aircraft proceeded to leave Vienna at 07:27, landing at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) at 08:43, amounting to an additional one hour and 16 minutes of travel time. This new connection represents the sole scheduled passenger service bridging Denmark and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Ethiopian Copenhagen
