Alaska Airlines’ new routes
«We believe our guests are going to love these new nonstops», said Kirsten Amrine, VP of Revenue Management and Network Planning for Alaska Airlines. She explained: «We continue to see strong demand by travelers who want to go to leisure destinations and are already planning trips for next year».
«We are especially excited to launch a new coast-to-coast route in Portland, which is a key hub for us», Amrine added.
Flights between Portland and Miami
On 17 November, Alaska Airlines will launch flights between Portland International Airport (PDX) and Miami International Airport (MIA).
The route will be available year-round. This will make the Florida city the airline’s 42nd destination from Oregon’s most populous city.
Alaska Airlines currently operates flights between Portland and three other cities in Florida (Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa). It also operates direct services between Seattle and Miami.
Flights between Palm Springs and New York
Starting December 14, the airline will connect Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) with New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
It will be a seasonal service that will strengthen the company’s presence in the Californian city, where it is already the largest operator.
«This new service not only strengthens our ties with one of the world’s most influential cities but also contributes to the economic growth and vitality of our region», said Harry Barrett, executive director of Aviation at Palm Springs International Airport.
Flights between San Luis Obispo and Las Vegas
Also beginning December 14, Alaska Airlines will offer direct flights between San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
«This daily route will link San Luis Obispo in California’s Central Coast region with Las Vegas, allowing for connectivity with additional routes in our network» the company highlighted in a press release.
Currently, Alaska Airlines also offers scheduled services to San Luis Obispo from San Diego, Portland and Seattle.
