Grupo Oesía, a Spanish multinational company dedicated to industrial and digital engineering, and Indra, one of the main global technology and consultancy companies, signed a strategic collaboration agreement by which they add key technological capabilities to improve the global offer of new generation systems and services for the Spanish Armed Forces and Security Forces, reinforcing and improving the positioning of both companies (and of Spain) in the international market and in European programs.
The signing took place this Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Teatro Real and was attended by José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, and Luis Furnells, Executive Chairman of Grupo Oesía. The scope of the agreement covers the development of new systems and services related to command and control systems (C4I), air defense radars, electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and target acquisition systems (ISR and ISTAR), and on-board electronics.
Indra’s CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos stated that «with this agreement with Grupo Oesía, a national and international benchmark in key capabilities based on hyper-specialization and disruptive technologies, we continue to add capabilities among national defense companies and we take a new step in our agenda of traction in the sector. This transformation of the Spanish industry favors its competitiveness in the international ecosystem, promotes autonomy in the development of strategic technologies for our Armed Forces and results in a better positioning of the Spanish brand».
In the words of Luis Furnells, «this agreement ratifies our commitment to innovation, specialization and the loyal collaboration of Spanish industry. It is a great pride to sign an agreement of this magnitude with Indra, who, since the arrival of the new management team, works and creates environments of loyal collaboration to be a great tractor of our industry. This agreement allows us to advance and improve jointly and collaboratively in dual technologies and innovative and disruptive solutions».
The collaboration model between both parties will be based on principles such as technological specialization, complementarity, trust to offer the best products and solutions, cooperation, generation of technological capabilities, investments in disruptive technologies and the commitment to continue the investment plan associated with the capabilities and technologies that are the object of the collaboration, among others.
As the first Specific Agreement, they have decided to establish electronic warfare based on photonics technology. Photonics is a technology that affects a multiplicity of operating environments, ostensibly improving performance in terms of both efficiency and effectiveness. The objective of both organizations is to generate high added value solutions for customers in the domestic market to improve their position in national and international programs and to compete by providing differential and disruptive high performance technology (photonics).
